The Alton Community Unit School District Board of Education unanimously approved the appointment of Angela Kuchnicki as Director of Student Services, following the retirement of Michael Bellm, who will conclude his service to the district in June.
In her new role, Mrs. Kuchnicki will provide leadership and oversight for a broad range of student services and operational functions, including transportation, food services, and custodial operations. She will also coordinate district wide student registration, manage district data in the Illinois Student Information System, and serve as the ACUSD McKinney Vento liaison, supporting students and families experiencing housing instability.
Mrs. Kuchnicki holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from Northern Illinois University, a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and an Education Specialist Degree with a Principalship Endorsement, also from SIUE.
She began her career with the Alton School District in August 2004 as a Speech-Language Pathologist, serving in that role until July 2020. From 2017 to 2020, she additionally served as the 21st Century Program Director. In 2020, she was promoted to Early Childhood through Fifth Grade Special Education Supervisor, a position she currently holds.
Mrs. Kuchnicki is deeply committed to the Alton School District and is widely respected for her collaborative approach and strong teamwork. She has played a key role in implementing Route Hub and working closely with Illinois Central to improve transportation system efficiencies. She is proficient in Skyward, IWAS, EduClimber, Embrace, and Google platforms. Over the past two years, she has worked closely alongside the current Director of Student Services, ensuring continuity and a smooth leadership transition. Her extensive experience, strong work ethic, commitment to continuous improvement, and dedication to serving students position Mrs. Kuchnicki well for success in the role of Director of Student Services.
