After carefully considering over twenty applications, the Alton School District is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Rick Reinhart as our new Head Football Coach.
Coach Reinhart brings outstanding head coaching experience from Mascoutah, Fairfield, Civic Memorial and Tuscola. He has a deep knowledge of the game and a passion for developing student athletes both on and off the field. His coaching philosophy is grounded in high expectations, accountability and a steadfast commitment to helping student athletes reach their goals. He understands and shares the Board of Education’s promise to provide excellent experiences for our students and our community, and his values align with the district’s mission.
Coach Reinhart is no stranger to the program, having served as an assistant coach last year. During that time, he demonstrated leadership, integrity and a dedication to building positive relationships with our players and staff. His well respected reputation in the region will allow him to recruit and retain a talented staff of assistant coaches and strengthen the Alton football program.
Throughout his distinguished career, Coach Reinhart has received numerous honors, including multiple Silver Helmet Awards, Coach of the Year recognition from the St. Louis Coaches Association, and recognition as a top program leader by the Lombardo Chapter. He is a member of the Illinois Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame, and the 48th coach in Illinois football history to reach 200 career wins. He has made ten playoff appearances as a Head Coach and five as an Assistant Coach.
Returning and aspiring AHS Redbird football players are encouraged to participate in the weight training program that begins next week. We look forward to an exciting new season of Redbird football under Coach Reinhart’s leadership.
